Cinema EX Rig

Made for a Sony PMW-EX3! Transforms the XDCAM EX workhorse of Sony in a visually appealing film camera.

With the MB-02 matte box, Lanparte released a matte box that fits the sunhood of the Sony EX3 almost perfectly. When used with the Sony EX3, the whole camera becomes something that is way beyond a simple camera that has been "rigged". The overall look compares to modern film cameras, making this camera (and the rig) appear pretty impressive, especially if you have a demanding customer.

Besides the looks, the CInema EX Rig offers some neat functions a filmer will definitly enjoy working with. The big MB-02 matte box has two filter trays which are fully rotateable and can be equipped with both, 4x4 and 4x5.65 broadcast industry filters. The big french flags will help you to keep lens flares away from your lens, although the visual impact of the rig is more impressive when the french flags are not used. The follow focus included in the kit has no backlash and is the perfect solution for precise and quick focusing, which can be limited by adjustable hard stops.

The rig can be mounted on any type of tripod head, as long as regular 1/4" or 3/8" screws are used. You can even upgrade the rig or use other cameras with it. Please note that some of our pictures display the camera with a v-lock battery and a power adapter. These are not included in the kit but can be purchased separately.
